Mary Barrett RIP

We are deeply saddened at the passing of our beloved Mary Barrett on 26th September 2011.

For over 30 years Mary has been the heartbeat of Renmore Pantomime Society. Her organising skills and wonderful presence enriched us all. Her many administrative roles included Chairperson, Secretary, PRO, Ticket Controller and Sponsorship Seeker.

Her all year round commitment to ensuring that our annual pantomime went ahead was legendary. She liaised with directors, artists, parents and children. She always made sure that all the backstage ingredients were in place. She constantly  encouraged the performers – particularly any newcomers to the scene. She was our Website contact. Her dynamic and positive spirit were so inspiring.

Mary’s kind and thoughtful ways will be missed, not only in Panto land but throughout the Renmore Parish where she actively promoted and supported every worthy community cause. In recent years, Mary has been a valuable member of the Renmore Active Retirement Association. The Barrett Family and the Renmore Community have lost a great and loving friend.

Mary’s motto could well be enshrined in a line from the Les Mis Musical ‘To love another person is to see the face of God’

Our deepest sympathy goes to her beloved husband Danny and to her loving daughters Carol, Clare and Deirdre.

Panto Committee – Volunteers wanted
The heartbeat of Renmore Pantomime is a hard working and dedicated Committee.

Would you like to share in this fulfilling & happy experience by becoming involved at Committee level? If you come forward now, you will achieve a great sense of satisfaction when the curtain opens in January and you have helped to lead the Renmore Panto into the next decade.

The Committee meet frequently throughout the year to think, discuss, plan, organise and execute decisions (already the dates, title and script for next year’s panto have been agreed).

The Panto Committee is responsible for upholding the Policies, Mission Statement and Constitution of the Society (which has charitable status). The Committee is also charged with ensuring the financial viability of each production (this year despite the recession & atrocious weather conditions we still managed to break even – a notable feat).

Meanwhile, if you , your friend or parent would like to be involved at Committee or Sub-Committee level please let us know through the contact page of this website or email: joeandmmccarthy@eircom.net.

Remember – without an active Panto Committee there will be no Renmore Pantomime. The fresh ideas, talent and enthusiasm of new volunteers is always welcome. So why not consider coming on board. You will get a ceád míle fáilte.
