Renmore Pantomime Society launched their forth coming 40th celebrations on Wednesday 25th Sept. The mayor, Councillor Mike Cubbard, officially launched the “Ruby Ball” event. The mayor spoke of the long tradition the Renmore Pantomime Society has of annually providing families from Galway and beyond with a feast of entertainment during the Christmas season. The Pantomime is an audience favourite with more than 7,500 people enjoying the performance each year.
Founded in 1979 Renmore Pantomime Society started as a local community event which has grown from strength to strength. The community now extends, not only throughout Galway city and county, but also to other counties around Ireland. The society has even gone global with members from England, USA and South Africa. Over the past 40 years an excess of 3,000 people have been involved with the productions on some level. Many former Pantomime cast members have gone on to pursue a career in acting, singing and dancing.
Renmore Pantomime Society would like to invite all who have been involved with the Pantomime over the years, on-stage, off-stage, front of house, committee, sponsors and audience members, to celebrate our 40th birthday with us. Our “Ruby Ball” takes place Saturday 12th October in the Galway Bay Hotel. The night includes a prosecco reception, four course meal and a variety of acts to continue our tradition of entertainment. The event is over 18’s only, black tie optional. Tickets are €60 each (groups of 10 or more €55 each) and can be purchased online here or by contacting us via e-mail at renmorepanto40@gmail.com or via phone on 087 3360205. Committee members will also be in the Connacht Hotel this Wednesday 2nd Oct from 7:30-9:30pm to sell tickets.
