Renmore Pantomime Society is very pleased to announce that following the success of last year’s sensory friendly performance of Cinderella that our 2016 production of Jack and the Beanstalk will also include a sensory friendly performance for children with autism spectrum disorders and other sensory difficulties. This sensory friendly performance of Jack and the Beanstalk will take place on Sunday the 3rd January 2016 at 12:00 noon.
A number of changes will be made to this performance to make the trip to the theatre more enjoyable for children with autism, allowing the whole family to enjoy this feast of seasonal entertainment. To provide a friendly welcoming atmosphere, this dedicated sensory friendly performance is adapted to include reduced volume, customised lighting and a tailored environment to meet the needs of the children and their families.
A limited number of tickets will be sold to maintain a comfortable audience size for this performance. In addition, extra staff and volunteers will be on hand to provide assistance and support. Designated “chill out zones” will also be available to the audience, providing a safe space for children to take a break from the show if required. A social story will be made available shortly for parents to download and prepare children for what to expect before they attend.
Renmore’s 37th annual Pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk promises to be a spectacular adventure of laughter, music and song, and is directed by award-winning twins Brian & Seán Power.
It runs from December 29th until January 10th at the Town Hall Theatre Galway.
Tickets available from Town Hall Theatre on 091-569777 or www.tht.ie.

Renmore Pantomime Society has lost a great friend and a most creative backstager in the sad passing of Len Wright.
Len has been involved in making Sets and Props for over 40 years for various shows – starting with CIE Tops of the Town in 1973.
Len gave unbroken voluntary service to Renmore Pantomime since its foundation in 1979 and to Galway Musical Society since it was established in 1985.
Many other Musical and Theatrical Productions throughout Galway have also benefitted from his artistic flair.

We were deeply saddened at the passing of our beloved Mary Barrett on 26th September 2011.
For over 30 years Mary has been the heartbeat of Renmore Pantomime Society. Her organising skills and wonderful presence enriched us all. Her many administrative roles included Chairperson, Secretary, PRO, Ticket Controller and Sponsorship Seeker.
Her all year round commitment to ensuring that our annual pantomime went ahead was legendary. She liaised with directors, artists, parents and children. She always made sure that all the backstage ingredients were in place. She constantly encouraged the performers – particularly any newcomers to the scene. She was our Website contact. Her dynamic and positive spirit were so inspiring.
Mary’s kind and thoughtful ways will be missed, not only in Panto land but throughout the Renmore Parish where she actively promoted and supported every worthy community cause. In recent years, Mary has been a valuable member of the Renmore Active Retirement Association. The Barrett Family and the Renmore Community have lost a great and loving friend.
Mary’s motto could well be enshrined in a line from the Les Mis Musical ‘To love another person is to see the face of God’
